I understand this kind of permission mismatch would not happen if you restore the /etc/passwd too where userIDs and groupIDs are set.
I am yet to install and test Duplicacy, so right now I cannot be sure of that.
EDIT: now I see you may be talking about Windows, I meant only for Linuxes.
