As stated in the title, I am a little upset about the renewal process of the duplicacy GUI. Due to life, i wasnt able to check on my server often in the last weeks. After a semi regular check on duplicacy I found out that my license expired and all the backups since then were aborted due to expired license. I never got the Reminder Mail as stated in the FAQ… Well my fault still kind of a bitter aftertaste. But the icing on the cake is that my renewed license is only valid until the initial expiration Date of my license. So I wont even get a full year of service for my purchase… Is this intended?
Yes this is intended and makes sense IMO. Since the renewal price is discounted, it’s assumed you’re licencing the software on a contiguous basis. See here for a recent discussion.
For future reference, consider implementing healthchecks.io to get notified when the software stops running (for any reason).
