Restore did not restore file

I’m using the web edition of Duplicacy.

Yesterday I backed up files from a directory to B2. Today I tried to download a file to my download directory in Windows. I noticed that it created the directory “.duplicacy” and the time stamp supports it was just created. When I open the directory, it’s empty. What did I do wrong?

What’s in the restore log file? What have you tried to restore? .duplicacy is a service folder, your data will be outside of it.

Here is the log file

Do you have Downloaded Mash Potatoes.docx in C:/Users/Jason/Downloads ?

(mmmm… now I feel hungry)

What have you tried to restore?

I tried to restore the file Mash Potatoes.docx

No. I went to my C drive and then folder by folder up to downloads and its not there. It did create the folder as I mentioned in my OP.

Interesting. it clearly says it successfully downloaded the file. Maybe it restored it with wrong permissions and it does not show up in the explorer?

Can you open elevated CMD, cd /d c:\Users\Jason\Downloads and then dir ?

I see what happened. I was assuming that it would show up at the top of the directory under the Today header. I searched the folder and because the file was dated Dec 2021 its near the bottom of the folder.

Thanks @saspus for your assistance.

Oh yes, that’s a feature. The file is restored along with metadata, such a creation date, etc.
