What `filters` file does the community use for MacOS?

Hello macOS users, i’m working on setting up :d: for macOS and i wanted to ask how does your filters file look like?

Obligatory offtopic:

For example I have

e:\.*DS_Store

But I’m not sure if these files are still used currently (eg. macos 10.14 or higher). I have also read macos - Why are dot underscore ._ files created, and how can I avoid them? - Ask Different and related, but i don’t think that’s the case for me.

What is the list of files/directories (caches and whatever else) you use?

I’m happy with anyone just pasting its own huge list of filters, and i’ll do the bulk of fixing and merging all the answers into a single “as generic as possible” filters file.

I’m very interested to hear thoughts on this too.

Thanks to @saspus for the ideas in Mac/OS X launchd example

@bcn I’ve given up on setting up :d: for mac and reverted back to Time Machine.

I’ve read saspus’s blog article, but i’m not sure i would like to exclude as many things as he did.

Since I don’t have a mac available to properly tune the filters and, more importantly, test restores as i did on my windows/linux machines, i just chose the path of least resistance.

Thanks for the update, I’ll persevere
