Can the same tag be assigned to multiple snapshots?

I’m migrating from CrashPlan and plan to backup old snapshots of archived repositories by year. So, for example, I’d restore from CrashPlan a snapshot of Multimedia in 2011 and back it up with -t 2011, restore from CrashPlan a snapshot of Public in 2011 and also back it up with -t 2011, and so on for all repositories, then repeat for all repositories in 2012, 2013, etc., tagging them by year.

Yes, you can assign one tag to multiple snapshots. Tags are purely decorative and there are no constraints on how you can use them.
