Error: 'Failed to parse the settings file: unexpected end of JSON input'

Having downloaded and installed the latest Web-UI version, 1.4.0, in the Settings section under Command Line Version, I am receiving the following error when trying to set the ‘On startup automatically update to’ variable:
Failed to parse the settings file: unexpected end of JSON input

It doesn’t matter which of the two available options I select, Latest or Stable, this error comes up every time.

This bug comes up when you don’t have the ~/.duplicacy-web/settings.json file. You can click the Save button to create that file with default values and then it should allow you to set that option.
