My machine and machine name have not changed. But the duplicacy gui pops up an error. The license code blahblah is associated with host “Craigs-Mac-mini”. Terminal “hostname” command shows “Craigs-Mac-mini.local”. Something wrong on the client software of license site?
Version 2.0.8 has a fix that makes the host name case insensitive but we missed a place on our license server that still does a case sensitive check. I’ve just fixed it.
You can run defaults delete com.acrosync.mac.duplicacy Signature
in Terminal to remove the existing license and then enter your license code to activate it again.
This is happening about once every week or so for me. I have not changed my machine name or reassigned a license, yet it will randomly pop up the error after reboot. Why does this keep happening?!
And now I can’t even get the license to assign! It says the follow error:
“Activation code has already been assigned to host ******. Please log in to your Duplicacy customer page to change the host.”
The host name matches my computer, yet it will not assign. Please help!
You can log in to https://duplicacy.com/customer and change the host name associated with your license activation code. You can find the host name of your machine by running hostname
in Terminal.
