Missing Chunk - why doesn't this fix the problem?

Have the dreaded missing chunk problem. After reading threads and trying a few things; I thought I’d go nuclear and do the following:

  1. delete all files snapshot folder
  2. do backup

Step (2) was quite lengthy and looked like it was reading all the source files again. I didn’t notice a lot of activity on the backstore tho (coz I suppose the chunk exist?)

However after (2) completed; I do another check (immeidately after backup complete with no other operations in between) and I still get missing chunks.

This shouldn’t happen right?

Make sure no backup ran during the check… if you have a LOT of chunks, the listing process takes a long time and then it discovers the snapshots. If a backup completed during these two phases, the check wouldn’t have a complete list of chunks and will report them missing.

However, it’s more probable you have an issue with your backup storage - are you using local or cloud?

It is very likely that you have a stale chunk cache. Go to ~/.duplicacy-web/repositories/localhost/all/.duplicacy and remove the cache directory there.
