New version - installing as a service

if you installed the older version as service you need to run the uninstaller in the Start menu as administrator, and then run the new installer as administrator as well

I don’t have the previous version installed as a service. Does this mean

1. I can just install over the previous version? or
2. I must uninstall the previous version before installing this version, but I don’t need to do these uninstall and install actions as administrator?
