Ransomware Flag in Windows 10 Executable

Please describe what you are doing to trigger the bug:

Finding that my antivirus (Bitdefender Total Security) is flagging my installation of Duplicacy on Windows 10 as ransonware. This puts the software into quarantine. The reported detection name is “Gen:Variant.Ransom.Snatch.2”. Please note, I have submitted the finding to Bitdefender, but I might suggest reviewing the installation file as a secondary check.

Please describe what you expect to happen (but doesn’t):

Please describe what actually happens (the wrong behaviour):

This VirusTotal page didn’t report anything: VirusTotal

Note that there are two BitDefender engines there.

Can you submit your executable to virustotal.com too?

Thank you for checking the downloads. I am still trying to get Bitdefender to allow access to my Windows 10 “AppData” folder and I will try to submit my executable at a later time. :weary:

Regarding the findings from VirusTotal, I accessed the report and it seems comprehensive. I downloaded the installer from Duplicacy.com directly as a trial. As long as you are confident that your distribution server is clean, let us close this issue and call it solved.

Again, thank you for your support.
