Unable to migrate licence to new machine

Hi together,

somehow I’m not able to move my licence from my old to my new computer and would be really glad for any clue on this.

I’ve followed the advice (for instance provided here Move Duplicacy & Licence) and proceeded as follow:

  • Changed host on the website to match the name of my new machine.

  • Started the web edition, clicked on ‘Trial’ in tab ‘Backup’, pasted the activation code in the text field.

My problem, however, is that the button “Activate” stays grayed out, no matter what.

Has anybody else experienced something similar?

After several trials (opening & closing the web app; shutting down the computer…), it finally (suddenly) worked. :slight_smile:

Just to add (in case anyone comes across this problem in future)…

This was almost certainly because the pasted code had a leading or trailing space. :slight_smile:

The field expects a certain length of characters and so the Activate button greys out when there’s one too many. The extra space tends to happen if you double click the code in the browser and the extra space is selected along with it. (A very common problem with lots of websites and applications.)
