Web UI Trial Not Working

I’m running Duplicacy Web UI for the first time on a fresh installation of Ubuntu 20.04. The documentation says that this is supposed to start a 30-day trial, but it hasn’t - Duplicacy still says it’s “Unlicensed” and won’t run backups.

I found one forum post with a similar issue, and tried the solution recommended there (installing ca-certificates, dbus, and tzdata) but they were all already installed.

Check the log file ~/.duplicacy-web/logs/duplicacy_web.log to see there is any license-related error. If you don’t see anything there, PM me your public IP address.

I see this in that file:

2020/11/27 21:59:13 Failed to request a license: This computer is not eligible for the 30-day trial
2020/11/27 21:59:13 Failed to get the value from the keyring: keyring/dbus: Error connecting to dbus session, not registering SecretService provider: dbus: DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS not set
2020/11/27 21:59:13 Temporary directory set to /root/.duplicacy-web/repositories
2020/11/27 21:59:13 Schedule backups next run time: 2020-1127 22:00
2020/11/27 21:59:13 Duplicacy Web Edition 1.4.1 (074ED2)
2020/11/27 21:59:13 Duplicacy CLI 2.7.2

Can you restart the web GUI? I reset the trial license that may have caused the problem.

That did it, thanks!

I am having the exact same issue. What can I do ?
