How to fix the "Can’t Start the web server" error?

I know there’s already an existing post about it but it’s not quite clear.

I started having this error since upgraded to 1.1.0

I also realized something, if I start the program via Start menu, it appears to load v1.0.0 (as seen in the footer) however, if I start the program using the newly created shortcut in the Desktop, it appears to load v1.1.0.

I appear to have 2 different version of Duplicacy at the same. How do I fix this? Do I need to uninstall the old version first every time there is a new update?

1.1.0 has the option to ‘install for all users’ which will install the program to a different location. For future updates if the installation mode is the same you can just run the new installer to overwrite the existing installation.

I see okay. Given my situation now. What do you advice to fix this issue?

You can first uninstall Duplicacy. Make sure it has been removed from the start menu and the desktop. Then run the installer again.

Okay will my previous backups remain safe after uninstall?

This should not affect your backups in the storage. However, if you are running 1.1.0 as a service, you may need to copy the configuration file to a different location. See Lost all settings after upgrading to web gui 1.1!
