Let the "Start on login" option use -background by default

Hi, I’m currently evaluating Duplicacy’s GUI version on Windows as a replacement for Crashplan. The tray icon for the GUI has an option to start Duplicacy automatically on login. However, it will then pop up a browser with the interface every time you login. I found the -background option on this forum, and I got the behavior I wanted by creating a shortcut in Windows’ Startup folder with the option included.

It would feel more polished if the tray icon option would do this by default, since that’s the usual behavior with such a feature.

This is a good idea. I’ll do this for the next version.

@gchen Has this one fallen off the radar? just wanted to bump this since I also think it would be a good change :cowboy_hat_face:

@gchen Thanks for adding this in the 1.6.1 release!

I think I found a minor bug, however.

The Start on login menu option does not remain checked after you restart the process.

I’m guessing there’s a string compare that doesn’t account for the newly added -background option.

It looks like only the Windows version doesn’t handle the -background option properly. Are you running Duplicacy on Windows?

Yes, forgot to mention I’m running it on Windows :grinning:

This should be fixed in 1.6.2.
